Witcombe Park Estate has been in the Hicks Beach family since 1614 and is 1,500 acres of classic woodland, pasture and arable land based 6 miles from the spa town of Cheltenham and the City of Gloucester and only 15 miles from the Cotswold town of Cirencester. Having always been a sporting estate we are steeped in history and have some of the best shooting topography being based on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment.

Being a private syndicate we have a fantastic family feel with Witcombe Park House being at the centre where all guns meet and move off from and come back for drinks and a well deserved lunch. With our topography and shooting over all of the estate we are able to present some fantastic and challenging birds that will challenge even the best shots.

With the estate now being run by Fred Hicks Beach and Lewis Feeney as Keeper we offer a very strong team to offer you a truly fantastic days sport. Lewis has an unprecedented history in keepering in Gloucestershire and since joining Witcombe has really stamped his mark on the estate.

We offer some great hospitality all served with a family feel being based from my home. We are able to suggest some great places to stay near by and also the potential of a 10 person (5 bed) property to rent on the estate (min 3 nights) A great base if you are planning a shooting trip in the area.

We offer days from 250 - 300 birds of predominantly pheasant but also some duck and we are happy to discuss any preferences with interested teams. All guns travel in their own vehicles.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Witcombe Park.

  • Hospitality

All hospitality as described is included. If you would like to bring some of your own you are also more than welcome too. We appreciate all teams are different but we can accommodate all situations, so please just ask.

  • Topography

Based in the bowl of the Cotswold way and escarpment we have unrivalled ground to shoot from. As well as cover crops, we have woodland, ponds and steep banks to launch the birds from.

  • About the hosts

The day will be hosted by Fred Hicks Beach who will be there throughout to welcome you, show you to your pegs, make sure you have a great day and show you into his home for drinks and lunch. Lewis will join after the meal for drinks and for you to have the opportunity to chat to him.
